Camping at Mariposa Ponds, New York

Mariposa Ponds is a 94-acre campground in the western New York town of Houghton. Located in Allegany County, the Houghton area draws visitors to its lakes, wildlife and scenery. Mariposa is the Spanish word for butterfly and the campground has five gardens with plants that are known for attracting these insects. The campground's natural theme is enhanced by stands of various pine and hardwood trees, a pond and nature trails.
